ICE = In Case of Emergency

This is a really simple idea which can make a big difference!

It was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobiles phones with patients, but he did not know which number to call to alert the most appropriate person to the accident.

He thought it would be a good idea if there were a nationally recognised name for this person, and devised the term ICE, standing for In Case of Emergency.

Emergency Service and Hospital staff will now look for the number stored under ICE and be able to contact the right person.

If you are ultra-cautious, and want to list more than one number, then store them as ICE1, ICE2 etc.

This is a great idea, and worth sharing with others!
