Brooklyn-based Uncommon Schools has just received a big award from entrepreneurs Keith and Keely Mann. The Dynamic Search Partners CEO has implemented a professional achievement award in he and his wife’s name for one graduating senior. The Keith and Keely Mann Scholarship and Professional Achievement Award will be given out annually.
The scholarship will help a student achieve their dream of attending a 4-year college. The $5,000 will go towards tuition, housing and other fees. Students applying for the scholarship must fill out an application and write a 1,000 word essay outlining professional goals and how going to college will help them achieve future success.
Mann has had a long history with the Uncommon Schools. The inner-city charter schools were established to help disadvantage and low income students prepare for college. The schools – located in Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey – have 14,000 students.
“We are very happy for this tremendous opportunity Mann has given to our students,” said Uncommon Schools counselor, Joe Frick. “This is a phenomenal opportunity to help a deserving student reach their goal of attending college.” Mann has always been a huge proponent of education and has always taken special interest helping schools that are short on funding.
